How ESCA Tech Africa handles information on escatechapp.com — what we collect when you send an order, what we do not collect, and how to reach us.

This policy covers the website escatechapp.com only. The ESCA Tech mobile app is a separate service with its own terms and its own privacy notice. Nothing on this website creates an account, and you are never asked for a password here.
ESCA Tech Africa is the operator of this website. We are based in Accra, Ghana.
WHAT THIS WEBSITE ASKS YOU FOR
When you are ready to send an order, the basket asks you for:
- your name
- your phone number
- your delivery address, if you have chosen delivery rather than
pickup
You type these details yourself, and only when you choose to send an order.
You can browse products, shops and guides without creating an account or giving us your name, phone number or delivery address.
When you submit a search, however, the actual words you type into the search box are sent to ESCA Tech's website analytics system. Search is intended for product names, shop names and electrical materials. Do not type passwords, Mobile Money PINs, bank details, identity numbers or other sensitive personal information into the search box.
WHAT HAPPENS TO WHAT YOU TYPE
When you press send, your basket and the details above are written into a message and handed to WhatsApp or to your email app. You send that message yourself. We receive it the same way we would receive any other message from a customer.
Your details are not saved into an account on this website, because there are no accounts on this website.
We then use your name, phone number and address to do the one thing you asked for: confirm the order, agree the price and delivery, and get the goods to you. If the goods come from a shop on our marketplace, we pass the delivery address to the rider carrying them. We do not sell your details to anyone, and we do not pass them to advertisers.
WHAT WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY
We record a small number of events so we can see what is working on the site: a visit starting, a page being opened, a product or video being viewed, a search, an item added to the basket, and an order being sent. These are stored in our own database and read by our team in our admin dashboard.
When you submit a search, the analytics event records the actual search words you submitted. It also records the number of matching products and matching shops.
When an order is sent through WhatsApp, the website analytics event records only limited order information such as the item count, order total and whether delivery or pickup was selected. That analytics event does not include your name, phone number or delivery address.
This is separate from the WhatsApp message itself. If your WhatsApp message contains your name, phone number, address or other order details, WhatsApp processes that message and ESCA Tech receives it so that we can handle your order.
To join website events into one visit, your browser generates a random identifier and holds it in session storage. It normally ends when the browser tab closes. It is not a login and does not itself contain your name, phone number or delivery address. The identifier is sent with the analytics events to ESCA Tech's backend so events from one visit can be understood together.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites for advertising purposes.
WHAT WE NEVER COLLECT HERE
- No payment is taken on this website. We never ask for, and never
receive, your card number, your Mobile Money PIN, or your bank details through this site.
- No passwords, because there is nothing to log in to.
- No copies of your identity documents.
Be careful of anyone who contacts you claiming to be ESCA Tech and asks for your Mobile Money PIN. We will never ask for it. Nobody legitimate ever will.
HOW LONG WE KEEP THINGS
Order messages and the details in them are kept as long as we need them for the order and for our own business records — including proof of what was agreed if a dispute comes up later. Website analytics records may also be kept for operational, security and service-improvement purposes.
WHO ELSE IS INVOLVED
The website runs on hosted infrastructure, and our product listings come from our own database. Those providers process data on our instruction in order to serve the site to you. WhatsApp and your email provider handle the message you send — their own terms apply to that message once it is in their hands.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to us using the contact below and we will respond.
CHILDREN
This website is meant for adults buying electrical materials and booking electrical work. It is not directed at children.
CHANGES
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described on this page rather than made quietly.
